August 19- Rookie EOBA Championship: The Pickering Red Red Sox went 5-0 during the tournament and captured the EOBA Rookie Division Championship. The final game was played against Whitby Chiefs tier 1. Pickering entered the final inning ahead 3-0. The Chiefs battled back to tie the game at 3. The Red Sox won it in the bottom of the 7th on a bases loaded single. Final score was Pickering 4 Whitby 3.

August 19- Minor Bantam EOBA Championship: The Pickering Red Sox defeated the Ajax Spartants tier 2 team 16-2 in the final game to become the EOBA Minor Bantam Champions. View Full Schedule and Results.

August 19- Minor Peewee OBA Update: The Whitby Chiefs, Pickering Red Sox, Peterborough Tigers and Ajax Spartants tier 1 used a round-robin format to decide the EOBA representatives for the OBA's. The games were played in Port Hope; when the dust settled it was Peterborough and Pickering remaining. Both teams will be off to Brantford to represent the EOBA at the AA OBA Championship.

August 19- Mosquito A EOBA Championship: Three teams remain; The Ajax Spartans tier 1 team hosts the Oshawa Legionaires on August 26. The winner will move on having to beat the Whitby Chiefs tier 1 team twice in the final round.

August 19- Mosquito B EOBA Championship: The Port Hope River Rats won the Championship game 4-3 over the Pickering Red Sox.

August 19- Bantam OBA Update: Kingston Thunder swept their best of 3 series with the Peterborough Tigers by scores of 14-3 and 10-3. Thunder will represent the EOBA at the AA OBA's in Vaughan on Labour Day. In the A division the Quinte Royals won their series with the Whitby Chiefs while the Ajax Spartans tier 2 team defeated the Clarington Orioles in a series. Ajax and Quinte are now in a series to decide the EOBA A representative at the OBA Championship.

August 11- EOBA 15u Team going to Ontario Summer Games: The EOBA 15u All-Star Team will be off to Ottawa this Wednesday to compete in the Ontario Summer Games Boys Baseball Tournament. View the team roster and schedule!

August 11- Chiefs Win Regular Season Crown and Newmarket Silver Bat: The Whitby Mosquito T1 Team finished the EOBA regular season in first place with an 18-2 record. The Chiefs also won the Newmarket Silver Bat Tournament on August 1 -3 weekend. Game 1: Whitby 9 Oshawa 0; Game 2: Whitby 19 North Toronto 2; Game 3: Whitby 12 Newmarket 3; Game 4: Whitby 8 Scarborough 4;
Game 5 Semi Final: Whitby: 13 Oshawa 3; Championship Game: Whitby: 11 North York 6.

August 6- Chiefs Win West Hill Tournament: On July 26/27 the Whitby Chiefs Peewee A team won theWest Hill Tournament. Round robin play scores: Vaughan 13-Whitby 6, Birchmount 4-Whitby 18, West Hill 1-Whitby 13. Semi-finals: Leaside 2-Whitby 11. Finals: Vaughan 8-Whitby 13.

August 5- Wanted: Cannon Cup Coach: Applications are being accepted for the position of Head Coach for the 15th Annual Cannon Cup Midget All-Star Tournament. The tournament is held in Oakville on the weekend of September 11-14. Interested coaches please fill out the application. Requirements: Full Level 1 NCCP certification, plus level 2 technical. Applications will be accepted for this position until Midnight August 10. For questions or to submit an application please email Steve Moore.

July 31- CNE Peewee Team Update: Tim Harkness will be the Head Coach for the 2008 CNE Peewee All-star Team. The team welcomes all Peewee aged players from across the EOBA to attend try-outs. This team will compete at the CNE Peewee All-star tournament on August 15-17. Dates for tryouts are currently being organized; Check back shortly for updates. July 31- Pickering Peewee Team Win Aurora Tournament: The Red Sox Peewee squad took home the Championship at the Aurora tournament on the July 11th weekend. In game 1 the Sox defeated the Mississauga Majors 25-2. Game 2 saw Pickering downing the Markham Mariners 11-3. In the third game two undefeated teams went at with the Sox coming out on top of Wexford/Agincourt 9-6. The Semi-final game was an all EOBA match-up. The Red Sox who are having a great year were up against another EOBA team who is also having a solid year; the EOBA Peewee division leaders; the Whitby Red Chiefs. When the dust settled the Red Sox came out on top 10-8. In the Championship the Sox took home the title defeating the Newmarket Hawks 10-3.

July 21- Oshawa Wins Bolton Tournament: The Oshawa Legionaires Mosquito squad went undefeated to bring home the championship in the Bolton tournament on the weekend of July 18-20. Read full story...

July 11- Chiefs win Quebec & Mississauga Tournaments: The Whitby Chiefs Peewee Tier 1 team won a Quebec AAA Tournament on the June 4-6 weekend. The Chiefs went 5-0 defeating the Scarborough Stingers 11-0 in the final. Matt Mystele was named Offensive player of the Tournament going 14 for 15. Ryan Collier was named Pitcher of the Tournament with an ERA of 0.57. In May the Chiefs won the Mississauga Tournament with a record of 6-0 defeating North York in the final 9-7.

July 10- OBA Annual Meeting in September: The EOBA Secretary Carol Steele is now accepting proposals for amendments and rule changes for the OBA meeting. Carol must have any proposals no later than August 10; so they can be discussed at the August 17 EOBA meeting. View EOBA meeting dates...

July 9- Kingston hosting EOBA Annual Meeting : The EOBA annual Meeting will be in Kingston in January. Remember at season's end to send in nominations for the EOBA awards.

June 16- Chiefs win Greater Niagra Tournament: The Whitby Chiefs Mosquito tier 1 team are Champions of the Greater Niagra tournament on June 13-15. Scores: Whitby 12 Burlington 0, Bolton 4 Whitby 2, Whitby 10 Royal York 4, Semi-Final Whitby 3 Niagara Falls 1, Championship Whitby 9 Bolton 2.

June 12- Red Sox win Bolton Tournament: The Pickering Red Sox Rookie Team went 5-0 to win the Bolton Tournament on the weekend of June 7-8. After defeating the Vaughan Vikings 17-2 in the semi finals, the tournament win was capped off with a 24-7 win over Bolton in the Championship game.

June 11- Spartans win London Badger Tournament: The Ajax Spartan Bantam squad brought home the championship in London. Despite losing their first three contests (Woodslie Orioles 12-3, London Badgers 8-2, and Hamilton Cardinals 6-1) Ajax bounced back to win the final three games (Aurora Jays 16-6, Semi-final Burlington Bulls 12-3, Final Woodslie Orioles 10-0).
