Cannon Cup Midget All-Star Team
The Coach and Development Committee are pleased to announce and confirm the selection of Curt Russell as the Head Coach and Manager for the 2010 Midget Cannon Cup Team. The 17th Annual Cannon Cup takes place in Oakville on the weekend of September 16th to 19th.
To be eligible to attend tryouts you must adhere to the following:
¨ Be a member of a 2010 E.O.B.A. Midget or Minor Midget team and be born in the year 1992, 1993 or 1994.
¨ Be available for the Canon Cup (Oakville) on September 16, 17, 18, and 19, 2010 and for one potential tournament in the United States in early to mid October. Date TBD.
¨ Be available for all practices and ex-games. These will be primarily on weekends to allow travel time.
¨ Have proper identification to travel to the U.S. (passports).
¨ Supply own equipment for your position.
¨ Obtain and wear grey baseball pants.
¨ Wear team jersey and hat (cost to be covered in team registration).
¨ Playing time will be as equal as possible
¨ Pitchers will have a set amount of innings to pitch in round robin or ex-games.
¨ Pitchers used in tournament playoffs will be a coaches decision, with the understanding of trying to use all pitchers.
* There is a one time $10 cash tryout fee. Please wear your current baseball uniform to the tryouts *
Try-out dates are:
Tuesday, August 31, 2010 – Town Park, Port Hope- 6:00 pm registration, 6:30 p.m. tryout. Pitchers and Catchers only (it is suggested that if you are a position player that pitches, then attend).
Wednesday, September 1, 2010 – Town Park, Port Hope - 6:00 pm registration, 6:30 pm tryout for all position players.
Thursday, September 2, 2010 – Iroquois Park, Whitby - 6:00 pm warm-up, 7:00 pm intra-squad game. *Only players requested to return from tryouts 1 and 2 are to attend.
The estimated cost per player is $200 which includes jersey, hat, two potential tournaments, baseballs, diamond costs and umpires. All fees are due shortly after selection of the team. You are responsible for your own travel costs and accommodations.
Players will be contacted by email to notify them of selection. Players not selected will also be emailed.
Players are encouraged to complete the pre-registration form and email it to Coach Curt Russell by August 26th.
