The 2011 EOBA Mosquito All-Star Games were hosted by Peterborough on August 6th and it was a big hit. Dodging some rain mid day the all-star event brought together 28 of the top players representing all Mosquito teams in the EOBA. The teams were split up East (Oshawa, Clarington and Peterborough) and West (Whitby, Port Hope, Ajax and Pickering). Coaches for the East were Devinder Dutt (Whitby) and John Haywood (Pickering) and for the West the coaches were Scott Cherwaty (Peterborough) and Ken Babcock (Oshawa). Two games made up the all-star day and a great BBQ hot dog, chips and drink were provided to all participants in between games. The West won the first game in a close one right to the bottom of the 7th inning 5-4 and then took the 2nd game in another close one 11-9. It was a fun day and the players enjoyed the interaction with all the other players from other teams they normally play against during the regular season. A big thank you to Scott Cherwaty and Peterborough Minor Baseball for hosting the Mosquito All-Star games at the East City Bowl.
